Looking for a guest speaker or writing workshop teacher?

I have always enjoyed speaking at writers’ conferences and meeting other book-folk across the country and around the world (I was lucky enough to visit the Perth and Sydney Australia SCBWI groups in 2008). Hearing from an editor face-to-face whether in a critique meeting, small group, or lecture setting can be both educational and inspirational. If you are interested in having me speak with your writers’ group in person or via webcam, I have a number of pre-developed talks on the publishing industry, the craft of writing, and how an editor works.  I can also develop a new lecture or workshop that meets your specific needs. Or, if you have any fresh ideas for helping writers improve, just contact me!

Julie was a guest speaker multiple times for my graduate children’s book class at the Academy Art of University. Her presentations were always informative, lively, and engaged the students. Her advice about the contemporary children’s book market was priceless! I highly recommend her.
